The September Eclipses

Are you ready for the Lunar eclipse on September 7th and partial Solar eclipse September 21st 2025?

Eclipses just hit different
The energy of an eclipse hits each person in a distinct way because it activates two opposing houses in a person's chart. Oppositions are "this or that" energy, where you feel the pull from both.
Where the nodes are and whether it is a solar or lunar eclipse can clue you in on how the energy of a particular eclipse might be felt.
In ancient traditions, the North Node is associated with the head of the dragon, symbolizing a point of increase, hunger, and attention. It can point toward purpose and be a driving force toward growth, or it can also be an area of gluttony, taking more than is required.
On the other side, the South Node is associated with the tail of the dragon, symbolizing a point of subtraction, surrendering, and releasing. It can point toward what needs to be left behind, like things that drain our energy and motivation. And it can also point toward where we are most comfortable and prone to sink into laziness.
The Lunar Eclipse
On September 7th, we have a lunar eclipse. At this time, the Sun is on the South Node in Virgo, and the Moon is on the North Node in Pisces.
The lunar side will be drawing our attention to Pisces, where the North Node is asking us to pay attention to our intuition. Wherever Pisces is in your chart, that house tells you the theme of what is drawing attention. While this is happening, the solar side will be on the South Node in Vigo. The Sun, the ego, is being asked to let go of something here.
Wherever Virgo is in your chart, that house is where you find the theme of this energy.
Because this is an opposition, you’ll be energetically pulled between the Sun and Moon energy. You can't have both. You must choose. Head or Heart?
See how that can be a powerful wake-up call?
Now, of course, we all have free will, so we can do what we want, but the energetic pull of this lunar eclipse will have you emotionally invested in one side versus the other.
Remember, too, that a lunar eclipse is also a full moon. And full moons are culminations. They are a closing out of one cycle before starting something new. The last new moon in Pisces was on Feb. 27th, 2025, and initiated this moon cycle that is now closing. So as the energy is pulling at you, demanding head or heart, it is also showing you that a cycle of your life is coming to a close. Think back to February this year and see what connects.
Now, that is just the lunar portion of this eclipse cycle.
We’re not done yet.
The Partial Solar Eclipse
While the lunar eclipse drew our attention to the opposition of Virgo and Pisces, two weeks later we get a partial solar eclipse in Virgo on September 21st.
The same houses are involved; however, this is no longer opposition energy. The North Node still wants our attention, but here both the solar and lunar energy are connected with the South Node. So, it is a lot easier to feel the energetic pull of what we should be focusing on.
Remember too that this partial solar eclipse is also a new moon. New moons bring new beginnings, and this one is the beginning of a new cycle in Virgo. With it being a partial solar eclipse, everything is happening around the South Node.
Both the Sun (the ego) and the Moon (our emotions) have the potential to work together to release something related to this part of our chart. Remember the South Node is the tail of the dragon. And what comes out of the backside? That’s right, the stinky stuff.
In order to move forward in this new cycle, we should let go of what no longer serves. And if the messaging wasn’t clear enough, the universe has punctuated this eclipse by having the sun and moon’s conjunction happen at 29 degrees of Virgo. 29 degrees is known as the anaretic degree. It is a place not quite between two signs, but ready to leave one for the other. The final degree of a sign is sometimes called the critical degree. It’s a point of challenge and endings, asking us if we have truly learned our lesson and are ready to move on.
So, it would probably be wise to drop what isn’t serving you before starting the new Virgo cycle.
Remember to pay attention to both eclipses. The clues are there if you’re paying attention. Look at your natal chart. Find the houses where Pisces and Virgo sit. The house tells you the theme of what is being highlighted. The nodes tell you what to be aware of and what to leave behind. And the planets show you the associated emotional energy at play.
