Transits at a glance
Oct. 1-5 — Mercury in Libra Squares Jupiter in Cancer: We see the disharmony going on around us, and know what needs to be done, but falter in acting when change becomes uncomfortable.
Mercury still has mutual reception here with Venus while each occupies the other’s sign. With this connection, we see the disharmony going on around us, and we know what needs to be done to fix it. Jupiter in Cancer is all for bringing on emotional growth and being nurturing and supportive but can sometimes be too clingy or attached to comfort to act and fully commit to positive changes. The conflict in this square between Mercury and Jupiter is that disconnect between being supportive and nurturing and our reluctance to give up comfort even when we know change is necessary for the greater good.
Oct. 2-5 — Mercury in Libra Opposes Chiron in Aries: Even when we see the problem, and know what needs to be done, we find it hard to take charge or advocate for ourselves.
While the Mercury Jupiter square is still in effect (within 3 degrees) we can add in an opposition to Chiron and square to Jupiter. Chiron is the wounded healer and represents our core “pain point.” In Aries, Chiron symbolizes pain related to an individual’s existence and right to assert independence. This addition to the conflict of Mercury square Jupiter, highlights the difficulty in advocating for oneself or facing the problem head on.
Oct. 6 — Mercury Enters Scorpio: Mercury in Scorpio is intense and passionate energy, especially with the ruler of Scorpio (Mars) co-present in its home sign. This creates an alignment where thoughts and communication (Mercury) and our ambitions and action (Mars) are amplified. Used appropriately, this is a time when you can get lot done! Just be aware of how you speak to others. Mars tends to give Mercury a sharper than normal tongue.
Oct. 7 — Full Moon in Aries: Time to take a stand, and release connections or commitments that no longer serve you. The full moon is a time of culmination. It is the closing of a cycle that started back on March 29th, 2025, with the partial solar eclipse/new moon in Aries. Think back to what was happening then and track its progress to now. The full moon is closing that cycle. Now is the time to either “show your work,” “set some boundaries,” or say, “I think we’re done here.”
Oct. 7 — Mercury in Scorpio Square Pluto in Aquarius: This transit is going to highlight discomforting truths and power struggles in your life. And while that may stir up anger and aggression within you, know that a “stationary” Pluto will not respond no matter how loud you shout. Patience and willingness to surrender control are the keys to getting through this difficult transit.
Mercury, with the aid of co-present Mars backing it, in the sign of Scorpio is not quiet about what it wants. But squaring off with a stationary Pluto (standing still as it nears the end of its retrograde cycle) is like shouting at a brick wall. This intense Pluto energy is connected to the outer planets: Neptune and Uranus (all retrograde and connected by trine/sextile). 3 houses in the chart (Aquarius, Aries, and Gemini) are being linked to Pluto’s intensity. These 3 areas of your chart are demanding attention, and Mercury in Scorpio is getting a crash course on what those planets are saying through this conflicting square to Pluto.
It is time to listen and learn.
Oct. 8 — Venus in Virgo Sextile Jupiter in Cancer: Venus in Virgo asks us to look at what we truly value. Jupiter in Cancer wants us to focus on self-growth and nurturing our emotions and connections. This sextile is a cooperative connection that bridges the themes of growth with value, offering perspective on where we ultimately want to end up and how we can take steps toward a better future.
This energy comes, roughly at the same time as the Mercury/Pluto standoff, which may act as a carrot at the end of the stick. The universe is telling us, “You have a hard path ahead, but if you don’t lose sight of your goal, you will find the way to get there.”
Oct. 10— Venus in Virgo Opposition Saturn (rx) in Pisces: This opposition highlights how we see ourselves and what we value versus what we do, and the effort we put into making them happen. Saturn energy here is like the boss coming in to do your annual review. This can bring up feelings of insecurity and impostor syndrome as Retrograde Saturn asks us to be truthful in answering if we have put in the effort to deserve all the things we feel we should have.
Oct. 12— Venus Kite: This energy will be felt for a few days as the connections are strong, and degrees are close. Pluto, Neptune, and Uranus (all retrograde and connected by trine/sextile) are focused on introspection and sharing information between the houses they sit in.
Venus in Virgo Trine Uranus (rx) in Gemini: Venus in Virgo looks for value, clarity, and intention. Uranus (rx) in Gemini looks for new ways of thinking and disrupts the routine of the day. This connection could force a new perspective and reassessment of values.
Venus in Virgo Trine Pluto(s) in Aquarius: Venus in Virgo looks for value, clarity, and intention. Pluto in Aquarius looks to reveal imbalances of power and transform social structures. This connection might encourage a recalibration of our personal power and value systems.
Venus in Virgo Opposition Saturn (rx) in Pisces: This opposition highlights how we see ourselves and what we value versus what we do, and the effort we put into making them happen. Saturn energy here is like the boss coming in to do your annual review. This can bring up feelings of insecurity and impostor syndrome as Saturn asks us to be truthful in answering if we have put in the effort to deserve all the things we feel we should have?
Venus/Saturn/Pluto/Uranus Kite: Perspective shifts and recalibration of values might be needed after taking a good hard look at the energy we’re putting into our goals.
Oct. 13-17 — Venus Enters Libra: When Venus is home, in Libra, it brings a strong desire for harmony, fairness, and balance in relationships.
Venus in Libra Trine Uranus (rx) in Gemini: Venus’s desire for balance and harmony connected with Uranus’s desire to shake up systems will require some open-mindedness. If you’re willing to listen to other’s perspectives, you might find a middle ground you didn’t realize existed within conflicts.
Venus in Libra Trine Pluto in Aquarius: Venus’s desire for balance and fairness with Pluto’s focus on empowering transformation might require some finesse. This is a connection that empowers an individual to speak up about what is important, while remaining diplomatic. Done right, it can be very powerful.
Venus in Libra Opposition Neptune (rx) in Aries: Venus’s desires and values come into conflict with a dreamy sense of idealism. Like with the previous Venus vs Saturn opposition, this is a reality check (just a little less aggressive). Instead of asking you if you have done the work, Neptune asks you to take a good hard look at what you think you want versus the reality of having it.
Venus/Neptune/Pluto/Uranus Kite: Focus on being open-minded and diplomatic when evaluating relationships and goals.
Oct. 13 — Pluto Direct in Aquarius: After months of introspection on personal transformation, Pluto goes direct in Aquarius and directs its drive to question authority and transform outdated social systems outward. This highlights a period of social restructuring, class conscious thinking, and demands issues of freedom and equality be addressed. Remember Pluto is in Aquarius for roughly 20ish years, this transformation is not quick.
Oct. 16 — Chiron in Aries Square Jupiter in Cancer
Jupiter in Cancer is all about supporting emotional growth and safety but can sometimes be too clingy or attached to comfort to act or fully commit to positive changes. Chiron is the wounded healer and represents our core “pain point.” In Aries, Chiron symbolizes pain related to an individual’s existence and right to assert independence. Chiron, in a conflicting square to Jupiter, highlights the difficulty or reluctance a person might feel when trying to advocate for themselves. This transit is an echo of the one we experienced back on October 1. Look back to what was happening at the start of the month, see if similar issues are stirred up again. Keep this transit in mind as it will remain in the background for the rest of the year.
Oct. 17 — Sun in Libra Square Jupiter in Cancer: This transit reveals tension between seeking justice or acceptance (Sun in Libra) versus the real need for security and safety (Jupiter in Cancer). This transit could bring up conflicts within relationships that are grounded in basic needs not being addressed.
Oct. 20 — Mercury Conjunct Mars in Scorpio: Mercury meeting up with the ruler of Scorpio creates an intense alignment where thoughts and communication (Mercury) and our ambitions and action (Mars) are amplified. This is a day where you can put everything into whatever you are working on, and power through. Just be aware of how you speak to others. Mars has a tendency to give Mercury a sharper than normal tongue.
Oct. 21 — New Moon in Libra: A new Moon is a signal for new beginnings and the start of a brand-new cycle. Oct 21-April 1, 2026. With it happening in Libra, the focus is on balance, harmony, and connections (relationships). Use this opportunity to set good intentions as this cycle begins.
Oct. 22 — Neptune (rx) returns to Pisces: As Neptune crosses back over the Pisces/Aries line it is asking us to take a deeper look into what we put faith into, and more importantly, if that faith well-placed. What does our future look like and how do we position ourselves to bring about a better life?
Oct. 23 — Sun Enters Scorpio: Welcome to “Scorpio season.” Where the focus is on exploring one’s inner self, seeking hidden truths, and reclaiming personal power.
And why not start the season off with an immediate square to Pluto in Aquarius?
This immediate touchpoint might stir up some aggression or feelings of needing to prove oneself as the ego (Sun) clashes with the drive to question authority and transform outdated social systems (Pluto in Aquarius). Be mindful and cautious of the potential for strong emotional swings.
Oct. 24-31 — Grand Water Trine
Multiple planets make a series of 120-degree aspects (within +/-3 degrees), all in water signs starting from 24 and ending at 29 degrees of Scorpio, Pisces, & Cancer. These trines are considered beneficial aspects that allow for the easy flow of energy between them. In short, this is supportive sharing of energy.
Oct. 25-27 — Mercury in Scorpio Trine Jupiter in Cancer Trine Saturn(rx) in Pisces
Water energy is all about stirring emotions. Pay close attention to what is being brought to the surface. These planets each have something for you to recognize and address.
Jupiter in Cancer wants to push for emotional growth, nurturing, and safety. (Where are we lacking this?)
Mercury in Scorpio brings our intuition to the surface and helps us to communicate our feelings. (Are we listening to our inner voice?)
Saturn (rx) in Pisces is asking us to look within and assess ourselves, and the steps we have taken toward our goals. (Have we been doing the things we should?)
Oct. 27-31 — Mars in Scorpio Trine Jupiter in Cancer Trine Saturn(rx) in Pisces
Action-oriented Mars (home in Scorpio) has the lead in this trio of energy. When Jupiter calls for growth and safety, and Saturn (rx) asks us to assess what we’ve done to achieve our goals, Mars will want to answer with action.
Water energy is all about stirring the emotions. Pay attention to what is being brought to the surface.
Oct. 27-28 — Mercury in Scorpio Trine Neptune(rx) in Pisces
Intuition or delusion? Mercury in Mars’s home sign of Scorpio has been empowered to go with intuition these last few weeks. But, before making the transition to Sagittarius, Mercury makes a final aspect with the planet of delusion and dreams. It’s a fitting connection as Mercury heads into a sign of its detriment. Neptune, especially when in retrograde, turns the delusions, dreams, and idealistic desires inward. This is a little energetic reminder that we should pay attention to. Intuition is important, and there is nothing wrong with following idealistic dreams for a better tomorrow, but you can’t base everything on gut instinct and hope.
Oct. 29 — Mercury Enters Sagittarius (detriment) & Opposite Uranus in Gemini
Mercury enters Sagittarius (Jupiter’s domain). Mercury, in Jupiter signs, is in detriment. It’s a place where Mercury speaks in broad generalizations, exaggerates ideas, and easily loses clarity and focus.
I like to call it “Drunk Mercury,” whenever this planet is in Sagittarius or Pisces. Not the best combination.
Drunk Mercury opposes the planet of chaos. Thankfully this connection is happening with Uranus in retrograde. That means the chaos is turned inward.
Drunk Mercury won’t be prompting any bar fights, in this instance, but might turn a bit weepy as it considers life choices and makes the pledge to “never do this again.” Whatever “this” is, in this instance, don’t trust that promise.
Do, however, pay attention to where your thoughts are and why they might be focused on a particular thing.
Drunk or not, Mercury is still Mercury, and there is a reason your thoughts are directed here.
Oct. 30 — Mercury in Sagittarius Sextile Pluto in Aquarius
Pay attention to where your thoughts are and why they might be focused on a particular thing. Mercury in Sagittarius might be getting a little philosophical now as it makes a connection with the planet of questioning authority and transforming outdated social systems (Pluto in Aquarius).
